Scope of the Project Bikaner, Financial Support - Global Giveaway,The project started - in January 2015With the aim of rooting out the practice like child marriage prevalent in the state, Urmul Trust, Bikaner andJointly by Global Giving, the campaign project to stop child marriage in the Thar desert is being operated in the Bikaner district.by the institution. Since January 2015, the campaign project to stop child marriage in the Thar desert is being conducted in 30 villages in the Bikaner district.Project Objective:1. Prevention and abolition of child marriage practice prevalent in the society.2. Awareness by giving information about the disadvantages and effects of child marriage to the publicBring in.3. To prepare the young men and women of the area to end the practice of child marriage.4. Selection of child-married families in the area and preparation of their case study.5. Members of the Panchayati Raj Institutions of the area to get rid of the ill effects of child marriage.training for6. Prevention and termination of child marriage to the members of the Village Health and Sanitation Committee of the area.training to do.7. Connecting girls with government schemes.The details of the activities conducted under the project are as follows:Adolescent Life Skills Training:A two-day training program was organized for adolescent girls in the villages of the project area for life skills training and to develop and strengthen their understanding of the disadvantages and effects of child marriage. During this training, the survey conducted by the organization in the villages was shared with the adolescent girls and various possible efforts to stop child marriage were discussed.Orientation of School Management Committee members:All the school management committee members of the project area were oriented on the issue of prevention and termination of child marriage. During this orientation program, all the members have explained the effects of child marriage on society, as well as the efforts to connect the children, left out of the school in the village were discussed.Training of Panchayati Raj members:A one-day training program was organized for Panchayatiraj members of the district, Sarpanch, Upsarpanch and Ward Panches in the villages of the project area. During this program, the damage caused by child marriage to the members of Panchayati Raj and the bad effects on society were discussed. During the program, possible efforts were discussed for the members to make their village and gram panchayat child-marriage-free. During this, the oath was also administered to the representatives of Panchayati Raj to stop child marriages in their respective areas.Training of Village Health and Sanitation Committee members:A one-day training was organized for all the Village Health and Sanitation Committee members in the villages of the project area. During the program, the ill effects of child marriage on the physical and mental levels were discussed among the members. Along with this, the figures for increasing maternal mortality and infant mortality rate in India due to child marriage were shared. During the program, all the members were administered oaths to allow child marriages to take place in their respective areas.Training of religious leaders and interesting people in the society:A one-day training program was organized for religious leaders and well-wishers of the society for effective prevention and eradication of child marriage in the villages of the project area. In this program, religious leaders and interesting people in society were invited from various communities in which child marriages are prevalent. Along with sharing the statistics of child marriage with them, the ill effects of child marriage at the society and family level and the provisions of the Prohibition Act 2006 were discussed.Organization of follow-up meetings of child marriage-free villages:Meetings were organized with youth, public representatives, front-line workers, and caste leaders at the village level for the effective prevention of child marriage in the project area and to develop understanding and monitoring among common people about the ill effects of child marriage. During these meetings, information was given about Child Marriage Prohibition Act 2006, the Right to Free Education Act 2012 and Poxon Act and awareness teams were formed to prevent child marriage in villages.Youth Training:A two-day training program was organized for the youth at the district level for effective prevention of child marriage in the project area and to develop an understanding of the ill effects of child marriage in the fire. During these training programmes, the youth were given information about the Prohibition of Child Marriage Act 2006, the Right to Free Education Act 2012 and the POCSO Act. During these training programmes, awareness teams were also formed to prevent child marriage in the villages. At the end of the program, all participants were administered an oath to stop child marriage.Formation of Children's Clubs:Village-level children's clubs were formed in the project area for the effective prevention of child marriage and to develop an understanding of the ill effects of child marriage in the fire.
