The work area of the project, Block Sridungargarh and Bikaner of Bikaner district, Financial cooperation - National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development, Project started - February 2013Project Introduction:With the financial support of the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development, the work formation of 300 self-help groups in the Bikaner and Shri Dugargarh development blocks of the Bikaner district has been started by the organization in February 2013. Under this project, forming new self-help groups, opening bank accounts of groups and linking them with loans, rating audit of groups, opening personal accounts of more than 50 per cent of the members of the formed groups, linking them with micro-insurance, Swavalamban 1⁄4 pension scheme1⁄2 To train the group members and leaders, etc., about bookkeeping and record keeping, related to accounting keeping.Project Objectives: The project is to prepare self-help groups of poor, needy and economically backward families of women, men or disabled persons at the village level. Organizing monthly meetings of formed groups regularly and regular savings. And linking the formed groups with banks. To get all the members benefited under the schemes of the government by linking them with banking. Credit linkage to the groups and through this making them financially strong and empowered. And trying to take the groups towards self-reliance by linking them with income-generation activities.Regular monthly meeting of the group:Regular monthly meetings of all the groups formed under the project are organized. In these monthly meetings of the groups so far mainly the following subjects/issues were discussed which are as follows: Information and discussion about regular group meetings and monthly savings. Information about government schemes. Discussion about the responsibilities, duties and responsibilities of the office bearers and members of the group. And information and discussion about opening an account in the bank. Information and discussion about the mutual transaction and its process. Knowledge of group record keeping and record maintenance. Information and discussion about animal health camps and vaccination. Information and discussion about seasonal diseases. Information and discussion about the training to be organized under the project. And information and discussion about the process of dealing with the bank and taking loans from the bank. Discussion about the use of loans from the bank and depositing the instalments of the bank on time. Discussion about the strength of the group. Information and discussion about personal savings of members.
