Project Progress Details-
Hydroponics:- Water culture or hydroponics is one such technique. In which crops are grown in a hydroponics machine only through water and nutrients without planting in the field. Also called aquaculture, hydroponics is a method of gardening without soil. This machine is powered by solar energy. And in one machine the seeds are germinated in 28 trays and planted in the trays. It is useful in feeding animals by developing green fodder without fertilizers and pesticides in a week through water fountains. And the farmer-animal keeper can employ his own animals and himself. Under this, 25 young cattle rearers have been added.
A Funder station has been established at Urmul Campus Bajju. The main reason for the need for green fodder production is hydroponics technology. Reasons like:-
1. Animal parents have less resources.
2. Non-availability of fertile land for green fodder production.
3. Having limited resources for irrigation, and land preparation.
4. Limited land for mining and fodder production in coastal areas.
5. Destruction of fodder by stray and wild animals.
6. Need for more labourers for agricultural activities.
7. High demand for green fodder.
8. Requirement of more water for fodder irrigation and not getting water on time. 9. Lack of green fodder in a dry time.
10. To be very beneficial for landless cattle herders.
