Work area of the program Block, Kolayat, District-Bikaner Project start April 2016 Financial support: CAIFFor the purpose of increasing the capacity of rural artisans, the program is being jointly operated by Urmul Trust, Bikaner and Kaif in Bikaner, Jodhpur and Charu districts.Program Objectives: Linking 700 new community members to handicraft work. To develop entrepreneurship skills of 290 artisans and bring them into the mainstream of market and business. Through quality control, designing and vocational training to 380 artisans in ruralTo lead women towards self-respect and financial independence. Leading rural women towards financial independence through sustainable livelihood. By equipping entrepreneurs with trade growth and the craft economy, further growth of urban centres.Regulating rural labor and making efforts to plug the skill gap. Improving the social development of communities engaged in rural crafts. To ensure the sustainability of efforts, training under this project will be extended to all artisans.To develop new marketing channels to ensure regular work forDetails of works done under the project: A baseline survey was conducted to identify strengths and weaknesses. Developed an action plan to implement the project in selected people and identified beneficiaries through data collection and created a digital database of artisans. 15 days of training for new artisans was done on cutting, crocheting, blank print, bandhej and weaving and dyeing. 600 new artisans were trained through this training. The training was organized for old artisans to make new products. In which a total of 103 embroidery artisans were trained for skill improvement 1⁄4 skill upgrade 1/2. To enhance business skills, 177 artisans were trained for entrepreneurship development through quality control, product design and computers.
