Swashakt - Empowering crafts collectives is Urmul's project funded by the International Initiative for Impact Evaluation (3ie) under the Swashakt program supported by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.Urmul Trust with its funding partner under Swashakt programme has been working with women artisans of Western Rajasthan. To empower women artisans, team Urmul works at grassroot level from the identification of interested artisans to train them in a particular craft. The aim of these trainings is to connect the women artisan with the market which are not limited to polishing their skills in craft but also focus on social securities, health, education, technological advancement and business management.Project Name Empowerment Program Project area Bikaner, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, Nagaur, Sriganganagar and AlwarFinancial CooperationProject launch April 2021Project Introduction: Urmul Trust, Bikaner and 3 I.E. By assessing the old clusters of crafts, by increasing the capacity of financial, technical, and marketing support and artisans, linking them with handicraft work.2. To create Craft Hub by selecting new clusters of Craft.3. To develop entrepreneurship skills of artisans and integrate them into the mainstream of business from the marketDoing.4. Rural through livelihood initiatives towards more dynamic and sustainable developmentTo lead women towards self-respect and financial independence.5. Development of urban centres by increasing trade of artisans and equipping entrepreneurs with a craft economyTo control the increasing rural labor and make efforts to arrest the skill shortage.6. Improving the social development of communities engaged in rural crafts.7. To ensure the sustainability of your efforts, all training under this projectTo develop new marketing channels to ensure regular work for the artisans.8. Making 4000 thousand artisans self-reliant and connecting them with independent, regular livelihood.Other Special:- The work of selecting of beneficiaries for adding government schemes was done. Did the work of value chain analysis of Vasundhara and marginal organization. Work was done to connect 350 artisans with government schemes. Preparation of training module. Regular liaison work with artisans was done by the project team. A baseline format has been prepared. 853 artisans were assessed. An exposure visit of 6 artisans was done. And participated in the Bangalore exhibition. Modules for applique, embroidery, quality checking and weaving training were prepared. Artisan cards were made for 95 artisans.
